This photo conveys to me an inner strength that the woman holds deep inside of her. She encompasses my idea of a courageous and determined woman, one not afraid of life’s hardships or struggles. I feel inspired looking into her eyes. I imagine she is an old soul who has experienced much more than I have in my lifetime. I see a wisdom in her face that only comes from deep life experiences and I wish she would teach me about the world. I want to know her secrets.
The sun flare over her eye intrigues me; As a viewer, I feel compelled to make a connection with this woman’s intense gaze, yet the flare blurs out one of her eyes which rouses an uncertainty in me.
I love this photo! Her emotion really keeps the image simple, yet very complex when you look into her eyes
I really love the contrasting lighting that makes your subject partially translucent. This portrait is even better than the one you showed in class as your Masters Exploration. I am so impressed with how you took your admiration for Sacagawea and applied it to your classroom study – that is the TRUE meaning of education,…taking the framework from a school project and filling it with your idea and perspective in a meaningful way. Just exquisite in so many ways!
