I originally liked this picture simply because of the aesthetics of the photograph and the way different aspects of the double exposure bring out different details. However, after looking at it closer, I noticed how the leaves from the ground appear on the subject’s face, and give her an impermanent and ghostly impression. I feel that this picture acts as a metaphor for childhood, a time in which kids are caught between dependence on adults and the desire to develop their own identities.
Aviva,
Thank you for sharing such an eloquent reflection of your work.
